Foodie (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Foodie mobile application (the “App”). Foodie is a serverless application, meaning it does not connect to or maintain any backend servers. All app functionality and data storage occur entirely on your device, and we do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our systems.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
We respect your privacy and strive to collect as little data as possible.
- Information You Provide
Foodie does not require users to create an account or provide personal information to use the App. Since Foodie is serverless, all information — including photos you take or import — stays locally on your device and is never uploaded to any external servers. The App may access your camera or photo library only with your explicit permission, for the purpose of creating or editing recipes.
- Automatically Collected Information
We may collect limited technical data to help improve the App’s performance and reliability, including:
- Crash data and diagnostics (collected via Apple’s system frameworks)
- App usage information (non-personally identifiable)
This information helps us identify and fix bugs or improve future versions of Foodie.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate and maintain the App
- Improve user experience and performance
- Diagnose technical problems and crashes
- Support App updates and stability
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes.
3. In-App Purchases
Foodie uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to process one-time donations. All payment information is handled solely by Apple, and we do not have access to your payment details or transaction data.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share anonymized diagnostic data with Apple solely for crash analytics and system performance improvements.
Because Foodie is serverless, no personal data is transmitted to our servers — we do not have any.
5. Data Retention
Foodie does not store any personal data on external servers. All your data (such as photos or recipes) remains on your device and is deleted when you remove the App. Crash and diagnostic data, if any, are handled by Apple according to their privacy practices.
6. Your Privacy Choices
You can:
- Revoke camera or photo access in your device Settings > Privacy > Foodie
- Request deletion of any support-related data by contacting us at contact@foodie-hub.uk
7. Children’s Privacy
Foodie is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect any data handled by the App. However, please note that no mobile software or network transmission is completely secure.
Since Foodie is serverless, your personal content is stored only on your own device, giving you full control over your data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
